The Top 3 Plug-and-Play Email Marketing Templates That Generate Sales
There are many email marketing templates that you can use to send out to your email list. Which ones are the best? Which ones work?
After doing hours of research and testing to my own and my client’s email list, I have compiled my 3 best email plug-and-play email marketing templates for you to use.
If you have been following my blog, with my last posts, I have given you some of the basics of online marketing that will help you with your emails, which included topics such as viral marketing and polarizing yourself.
However, this article will be somewhat different as this is a topic that is a 100% actionable and practical. Let us begin.
What Must Come First Before Crafting Any Good Email?
In the copywriting industry, there is something we call a SWIPE which we base our writing on modeling winning sales letters and ads that have been known to generate proven results.
After experimenting with this for over a year now and working with my own clients, I realized that a SWIPE is only half the battle, in fact I’d even argue that it can only bring you about 25% of the way.
Think about it this way, if all it really took for you to succeed was to copy what was working – then we would have a lot more successful people by now.
Try to copy Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant? You can’t. They’ll slam dunk in front of your face.
Though there is one thing that will help you bring in the remaining 75% in generating sales for your business and it is this..
Building a good relationship with your list.
I was having a conversation with a client the other day who was an affiliate marketer that was trying to increase his sales. He was extremely focused on getting the sale to the point where you could say it was very myopic.
I told him this.
“Bro.”
“I can give you the best gimmicks in copywriting, but if it does not come from a place of relationship building and giving actual value. It is very difficult for you to land any sale.”
He agreed, we learnt our lesson and we changed our approach.
I want you to remember this when you are applying these email marketing templates..
Before using any template..your marketing material has to come from the place of genuinely wanting to give value first.
Understand?
Good. Here are your three templates for you to snatch from me.
Email Template #1 – Challenging Norms
I posted this on my Instagram recently where I said that you want to be constantly challenging norms to position yourself as an innovator in the marketplace.
Show me any item that you are using right now and I will show you one that challenged the norm.
The iPhone challenged the norm of the flip-phone.
Electricity was once an idea that came from the industrial revolution.
The internet was only once an idea.
These are some of the examples of revolutionary ideas that changed the world, but when you are writing your emails, you want to position your product as something that is different from all the other businesses in your industry.
Ask yourself this question:
What makes you stand out from your competition?
Then send a promotional email about that.
Some keywords that you can use are: “First, Breakthrough, Innovative, New, Only, Best”
Your first template is to base your email on how your product is is different from all the other products from your industry.
Email Template #2 – Where Is Your Evidence?
With the COVID-19 pandemic showing how much fake news there is, how do you even know who to trust in a world where it is so difficult to differentiate between what is real and unreal.
That is why from now on, everything you write, you must prove it with evidence.
There are many ways to demonstrate proof, which includes graphs, case studies, testimonials, samples, expert opinions.
Pick one, and run with it for your email.
I highly recommend the book: Cashvertising by Drew. E. Whiteman which goes into the concept of proof in much more detail.
The second template is to give concrete evidence that your product gives a result.
Email Template #3 – If You Are Out Of Ideas, Share your day
Share something that recently happened in your life. Connect it with your business.
I recently sent out an email to my list about how my dad was telling me about the “Blue ocean strategy” and what it takes to stand out in today’s hyper competitive world.
One of my subscribers replied, and we kick started a conversation from there.
Why did he reply to my email?
Well, sharing your day does two things.
Firstly, sharing recent events triggers something called the recency bias.
To put it simply, the recency bias is a psychological trigger makes us put more emphasis on things that are freshest in our memory. This means that people are more likely to be interested in what you are saying if it is something new, or recent.
The second reason why he replied to my email is because sharing recent things is something that is personal.
Write this down: All marketing is personal.
Anything you send out, you have to make it personal – as if you are going about your daily life.
This is because when you are sharing things that are personal to you, you stand out more. You spark more emotion, and you connect more with your audiences.
Let me give you a quick example of how to use this template (e-commerce niche)..
- Story
- Connect
- Close
“Dear reader..
I was just picking some things at the grocery today to make dinner and while I was browsing the kitchenware section, I stumbled across two kitchen cloth side by side each other.. *story*
The first cloth was nothing special.
But the second one, there was something that just stood out to me, so much so that I had to buy it.
What made it stand out?
It had a very perculiar deisgn, something I had never seen before..
Which was why from that day, at [Kitchencloth company], we based all of our designs on that unique kitchen cloth we found at the local supermarket. *connect*
If you are interested in our kitchen cloths, you can check it out at [LINK] for a 20% discount. *close*”
That is how you connect things, describing something as simple as going about your day, stumbling across a million-dollar idea and connecting that idea for your own business.
Boom.
This can be very very powerful if executed correctly.
The third template is to share something that happened in your day, and connect it to your business.
Those are my three best email marketing templates for use to use to increase your sales and conversions.
Again, I will repeat, as we have discussed in the first section..
If your emails do not come from a place of genuinely wanting to build a relationship and adding value, then it will not work. Although the templates and the writing is something that is learnable through study. You cannot teach genuineness, it must come from your heart.
The sales will come naturally when your product is doing something to help others, regardless if it is just a utility, service or physical product.
It has to come from that place because if not, your audience will feel it in the conviction of your writing.
Pick one thing to apply from this article and do it today and see what results it generates you. I actually cover these topics more in depth in my book “Cash-Emails” which is a 7-day guide made to transform the way you tackle your email marketing for your business. I highly recommend you read my book for more insights you can use for your own business.
As always, stay true, stay safe, and the rest, you already know.
